Storage container rental FAQ
How much does storage cost?
On-site storage at our lot in Fenelon Falls is $150/month. Portable storage delivered to your door is $200/month. Same 8'x20' steel container either way. That's it.
Are there any hidden fees or setup charges?
For on-site, no. $150/month is what you pay. For portable, there's a $100 delivery fee when we drop it off and a $100 pickup fee when you're done. Monthly rate is $200. That's everything.
Do I need to pay a security deposit?
No deposit required.
What payment methods do you accept?
E-transfers and major credit cards. Give us a call to sort out the details.
How does the billing cycle work?
Your first payment is prorated. If your container is delivered on the 15th, you only pay for the rest of that month. After that it's a flat monthly rate billed on the 1st. No long-term commitment.
Can I get a discount for a longer rental?
Call us and ask. We're a small local operation and we'd rather work something out than lose a good customer.

What are you actually getting?
What size are the containers?
All our containers are 8 feet wide by 20 feet long. That's 160 square feet of floor space: bigger than most storage units you'd rent at a self-storage facility.
Do you sell shipping containers?
No: we rent them. Buying a decent used 20-footer around Kawartha Lakes runs $4,000-$6,000 plus delivery, and then it's yours to deal with forever. Renting from us is $150-$200/month with no upfront cost, and when you're done we haul it away. If you only need a container for a few months or even a couple of years, renting is usually the better deal.
Do you have storage containers for rent?
Yes. Our storage containers for rent are 8'x20' steel sea cans, also called c-cans or shipping containers. Use them on-site at our Fenelon Falls lot or choose portable storage and have one delivered to your property.
What's the difference between on-site and portable storage?
On-site means your container sits at our lot in Fenelon Falls. You drive up when you need access. Portable means we drop the container at your property and you load and unload on your own schedule. Same container, different location.
What do people use portable storage containers for?
Common uses include driveway storage, moving storage, renovation storage, contractor and jobsite storage, equipment storage, and temporary storage.
Will my stuff stay dry?
Yes. Sea containers are built to cross oceans in all conditions. A Kawartha Lakes winter is not a problem. Your gear stays dry.
What can I store in there?
Furniture, tools, equipment, building materials, seasonal gear, dock equipment, vehicles, whatever you've got. No hazardous materials or anything that shouldn't be stored in a sealed steel container.
Can I access my container anytime?
For portable units on your property, yes: it's on your land, access it whenever you want. For on-site units at our lot in Fenelon Falls, give us a call to confirm access hours.
Are sea containers better than regular storage units?
For most people in Kawartha North, yes. You get more space: 160 square feet versus the 50-100 you'd get at a self-storage facility: for less money. No climate control, no fancy amenities, just a solid steel box that keeps your stuff dry and secure. If you need to store furniture, tools, seasonal gear, or building materials, a sea can is hard to beat.
Do the containers come with a lock?
Give us a call and we'll sort out the details. Most customers use their own padlock: standard hasps on all containers.

Where do you deliver?
Where do you deliver portable storage containers?
All across Kawartha North: Fenelon Falls, Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Norland, Kinmount, Coboconk, Cambray, Kirkfield, Woodville, and the surrounding area. If you're in the K0M or K9V postal code, give us a call. For longer-term rentals we also deliver into Haliburton County and cottage country.
Do you offer storage pods near me?
Yes, in the sense people usually mean: we drop a portable steel container at your driveway, farm, cottage or job site. We are not PODS; ours are 8×20 sea cans, which hold more and stand up to the weather.
Do you deliver to cottage and lakefront properties?
Yes. Sturgeon Lake, Pigeon Lake, Balsam Lake, Cameron Lake, the back roads: if we can get a truck there, we will. Call us and we'll figure it out.
Do you deliver to farms and rural properties?
Yes. Farm properties, rural lots, job sites, anywhere along the Highway 35 corridor. Give us a call and we'll work out access and positioning.
How long does delivery take after I book?
Call us and we'll give you a real answer based on current availability. We don't have a generic timeline: we have actual trucks and actual schedules.
What space do I need for a container drop?
You need a reasonably flat area at least 25 feet long with overhead clearance for the truck. Give us a call and describe your property: we've delivered to some tight spots and we'll let you know if it's doable.
How do I cancel and get the container picked up?
Give us 30 days notice before your next billing date. We'll schedule a pickup and that's that. No penalties, no hassle.
